Movies
We just sorted thousands of CDs into alphbetical order. Sorry I didnt make it Roo! Lots of people just turned up and they are driving me insane because they are BORING.

My dad is back on Saturday. Anyway, my favourite films (they are all linked to imdb and hover-able):

Valerie and her Week of Wonders

I want MORE, I havent put every film I ever liked up there (I failed to mention Orphee and Badlands), just the ones that make me smile the most. Recommend some!

Its so gorgeous!
I like really bleak films, kinda German expressionism but I missed a few out- really love Carl Th Dreyer and Stop Motion. And Takeshi Kitano!

i caught alice a few weeks ago at a friend's house. visually interesting but the audio! the sound f/x were so jarring and brutal. oh and the mad hatter scene... jesus i thought i was tripping again! very effective.
did you catch the claymation short by the same makers involving a body assembling itself? i loved it even more than the main feature.

hmm, i'm trying to remember which movies i've already recommended which you've seen... natural born killers? OR i just posted about two that released last year, both quite fantastic

You would love Germania Anno Zero, La Terra Trema, Ma Nuit Chez Maud, and Der Golem if you like your bleak European cinema.

Otesanek is great, as are La Strada, Der Untergang, Nosferatu, Oldboy, and Aguirre...

Good choices.

Thank you for the curious recommendation! I thought Tetsuo was great, apparently this is similar? I will put it on my list.
